"I am a firm believer that when traveling and/or visiting, the experience is not complete without sampling the local cuisine. The patrons of the inn in which we were staying recommended numerous places, however, one local restaurant was top of the list; Vittles Restaurant located in Pittsfield, Maine. Tammy, who was also our server, received us with a warm greeting. She applied personality and character to all she would say and do. Her familiarization of the menu items was explained in detail, in a passionate manner. We were also introduced to the owner Rick, who was also the chef. He took the time to make us feel welcome and even offered a sample of an avocado dish to get an opinion. He did, after all, say that we would like it. It was, so we ordered that plate. Overall, it was a delight to have met people such as these two who went out of the way to create a warm, friendly environment. To know that this wasn’t just a business to them, it is their passion. You better believe that when next we visit, we will pay them another visit."
